The Czechoslovak Group (CSG) has secured a significant contract to supply small-calibre ammunition to the Ministry of Defence of a Southeast Asian state. The value of the contract amounts to several hundred million US dollars. In doing so, CSG is delivering on its strategy to expand supplies of small-calibre ammunition from its companies into the defence and security segment as well as providing continued market diversification and strengthening the company’s position in the global defence supply chain.

Production for this contract will be ensured by companies within the CSG Ammo+ division, which has long specialised in the small-calibre ammunition segment and ranks among the most important manufacturers in the Western world – both in terms of capacity and the breadth of its portfolio. The division includes several plants in Europe and the USA and brings together renowned brands recognised in both civil and defence applications.

“This contract is an important confirmation of our ability to deliver high-quality ammunition in large volumes and to demanding quality standards,” said Petr Marijczuk, CEO of the CSG Ammo+ division. “Thanks to the interconnection of our production capacities in Europe and the USA, we are able to offer our customers high flexibility and reliability of supply. At the same time, we are fulfilling our commitment not only to operate in the civilian market, but also to significantly expand deliveries for customers in the defence and security segment,” he added.

The contract contributes to strengthening the export activities of the CSG Ammo+ division in strategic markets and aligns with its long-term strategy to diversify its customer portfolio. For security reasons, CSG is not disclosing the customer’s name, nor the volume or type of ammunition.

The capabilities of the CSG Ammo+ division increased significantly with the acquisition of The Kinetic Group (then part of the American company Vista Outdoor) at the end of 2024. Thanks to this acquisition, the portfolio of ammunition manufacturers under the CSG Ammo+ division expanded to include other prestigious brands such as Remington, Federal, and CCI Ammunition. It should be noted that the CSG Ammo+ division had already acquired the leading Italian manufacturer Fiocchi Munizioni, which produces ammunition for hunting, sports, and security forces, Baschieri & Pellagri, which designs, develops, and manufactures gunpowder, cartridges, biodegradable components, and premium shotgun shells, and British shotgun shell manufacturer Lyalvale Express. Through Fiocchi of America, CSG has been operating on the American market for more than two years.

At the beginning of this year, our editorial team had the opportunity to ask Jason Vanderbrink, CEO of The Kinetic Group, a few questions, not only about the merger with the Czech group CSG.
