Ukrainian MiG-29 Vanishes During Combat Mission - What Happened Next Saved the Pilot’s Life
A Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet was lost during a combat mission over the Poltava region on the night of June 27, while the pilot managed to eject safely and survived the incident.

They were later identified as Major Bohdan Hryhorovych Zaharulka and Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Oleksandrovych Babenko. Their deaths underscored the dangers faced by Ukrainian military aviators, who continue to operate in high-risk wartime conditions.
Taken together, the two incidents highlight the constant pressure on Ukraine’s air force personnel and equipment.
