Showcasing Czechoslovak Group Products at NATO Days 2025

 15. 10. 2025      Category: Defense exhibitions

This year's NATO Days were truly spectacular, featuring several dynamic demonstrations of military technology both in the air and on the ground. In addition to presentations by representatives of individual armies, such as Italy, Poland, and Germany, spectators were also able to view exhibitions by major representatives of the Czech defense industry, such as the Czechoslovak Group.

The ground dynamic demonstrations included, for example, the new Pandur 8x8 EVO wheeled armored vehicle, which had its world premiere at this year's IDET 2025 trade fair. This vehicle is the result of the work of Czech developers and specialists from Tatra Defence and was designed with the needs of the Czech Army in mind, but it also has great export potential.

The static exhibition also featured another wheeled armored vehicle, the TADEAS 6x6 MEV, which made its debut in the Czech Republic. This is a variant of the vehicle specially modified for the rapid and safe evacuation of wounded soldiers from the battlefield. The Polish army, for example, has already expressed interest in the TADEAS platform, and the vehicle will be manufactured under license by Huta Stalowa Wola (part of the Polish PGZ group) – except for the chassis – under the name MTV 6x6 Heron.

The TADEAS vehicle offers space for various missions, with seating for a driver, a commander, and up to 11 crew members. It’s well-suited for operations requiring both large and small team coordination. The vehicle can be equipped with ballistic protection up to level 4 and anti-mine protection levels up to M4a/M4b, according to STANAG 4569 standards. TADEAS is a robust platform, adaptable for military, firefighting, or rescue operations, customizable to specific customer requirements, making it a reliable ally in high-risk environments.

The Retia stand featured the premiere of the ReCUBE GBAD mobile container command and control platform for ground-based air defense, which provides fully integrated real-time control of all system sensors and effectors. This special container was mounted on a Tatra vehicle with a hook loader from partner company Karbox.

This special container enables rapid deployment in the field, continuous secure connectivity and full operational capacity even in the most demanding conditions, thanks to advanced computing and communication technologies. ReCUBE GBAD integrates all sensors and effectors of the system in real time and, thanks to its ability to automatically classify threats, can recommend the most effective means of eliminating them.

Another interesting exhibit was the RM-70 Vampire rocket launcher from Excalibur Army. It is a 40-barrel self-propelled rocket artillery system with an automatic loading device on a Tatra 8x8 chassis. RM-70 Vampire is a significantly upgraded variant of the original Czechoslovak RM-70 GRAD MLRS. The original T-813 chassis was replaced with the new T-815-7 8×8 with air axle suspension, high cross-country capability and good maneuverability. The rocket launcher can fire both single rounds and salvos from the cabin or using a portable device from a nearby trench.

Vampire features 122 mm JROF rockets capable of reaching a range of up to 40 km. The crew carries forty rockets with another forty available for reloading. The loading device allows a high rate of fire – 80 rockets in 2 minutes. The whole system is operated by a crew from the protected modular EA Puma cabin, which in various versions is certified for STANAG 4569 protection Levels 1–3 and is also equipped with NBC filters.
